Will changes that I make to a template affect existing quotes and invoices?

Essentially, most changes made to your templates will affect existing quotes and invoices, but not all. Below are a list of elements that, when changed, will update across your existing quotes and invoices, followed by a list of elements that will not.

Changes that affect existing quotes and invoices:

  • Logo
  • Custom CSS
  • Default Language

  • Customer Details

  • Account Details

  • Description

  • Details

  • Payment Terms

  • E-Signature

  • Product labels

  • Scheduled Payments labels

  • Notes

  • Footer

Changes that do NOT affect existing quotes and invoices:

  • Scheduled Payments

  • Payment Planner

What about changing the quote/invoice ID number?

Changing the quote/invoice ID will actually affect ALL existing and future quotes/invoices - not just the ones that use a particular template. So be mindful if you need to change this.

What if you delete a template that is already in use?

If you delete a template that is assigned to a quote/invoice, then the quote/invoice will be automatically re-assigned to the default template.

And what if you delete the default template? Well, you can't - Paycove actually prevents you from deleting the default template. If you would like to delete the default, then you will need to set another template as the default first.
